Global Sight Network is redefining the process of tissue transfer between Eye Banks.

GSN is not only making the process easier but greener as well. GSN has dramatically reduced the need to print, email, or fax information. Simply login into the secure server at GSN Green and submit information on each tissue. Following submission of all tissue, you will print a summary of your submission and include it with your shipment. That is all it takes to send tissue to GSN.

HOW TO USE GSN GREEN FOR DATA ENTRY

Each Eye Bank will have two logins.

1. Master login opens the master account where

a. The login password can be changed for the master and user accounts

b. New user accounts can be created

c. Status of tissues received by GSN can be determined

2. User login lets the source eye bank enter tissue and donor information into the GSN database prior to shipment to GSN.

Shipping Guidelines

  1. Source eye bank will enter shipping and tracking information onto the website

  2. Tissue must arrive no later than 12 days after the date and time of preservation

  3. Multiple tissues may be shipped in one container

  4. FedEx is the preferred shipment method, Priority Overnight.

  5. Source eye bank assumes the cost of shipping

  6. Corneas must be shipped on “wet ice”

  7. Shipment must include the Packing List printed from the GSN Green website

Tracking Guidelines

Since GlycerolPlus Corneas have an extended expiration date, final status may be determined months or years after GSN receives tissue.

  1. For GSN-distributed tissues: GSN assumes the role of distributing eye bank and will communicate final usage and reimbursement status of tissue with source eye bank.

  2. For tissues distributed by source eye bank: source eye bank assumes the role of distributing eye bank and the responsibilities attendant to this role.
